Monkeypox or monkey pox in humans is a zoonotic infectious disease occurs sporadically reported in remote areas in West Africa and Central Africa. Clinical picture resembling smallpox, but lymphadenopathy is more prominent in early disease. Pleomorphism and "cropping" to resemble chickenpox occurred in 20% of patients.
Natural history of disease of viral origin have not clearly known, but suspected to humans, primates and squirrels live in one cycle enzootik. The disease attacks all age groups, but children under 16 years of age have the greatest risk for this disease.
